1) We use Stripe.com to collect tips securely from hotel guests
2) Hotel guests leave a short note with a unique claim code and PIN for their maid
3) The maid claims their tip and either deposit directly to their Debit Card or bank account
It's that easy! :)
Stripe.com collects a 2.9% + $0.30 fee for every transaction and (for now) MaidTips collects the same 2.9% + $0.30 - but we hope to continuously reduce this fee as we reduce our costs via advertising and data services for hotels. Our long-term goal is to collect zero fees and pay 100% of tips directly to the hardworking hotel maids!
